A New Look

Sorry for the ginormous picture of us! I was trying to change up our blog a little bit, and I have no idea how to make our title picture smaller. I'm going to keep working on it, but for now, enjoy our huge faces.
Things are going well here. I still feel great and really can't complain about this pregnancy. Our baby boy is very active, particularly at night when I'm in bed trying to sleep : ) I still work a few days a week and am planning to keep at it until I feel miserable or until the baby comes, whichever comes first. We are in the final planning stages of getting the nursery situated, so that's been fun. Our amazing home builder has offered to paint our nursery as a baby gift. She has even hired a professional interior designer/artist to do it! Greg and I thought she was just going to recruit one of her work crew painters to do it, so we were very surprised when she called to set up our first meeting with the decorator. I met with her last week to discuss our "vision" for the nursery and she is supposed to draw up plans this week to show us what she can do. I feel like I'm on HGTV! I can't wait to see it finished and I'm even more excited to see our baby in it!
Greg and I have been debating/arguing/discussing the name of our baby since we found out he was a boy. We've discovered that our tastes in names are pretty different. Greg tends to like older, more mature (ie 80 yr old man names) and I tend to like more popular, traditional names( too popular as far as Greg and our OB are concerned-my OB told me flat out I could not name my baby Aidan because he had already delivered too many babies by that name). I was so afraid our baby was going to leave the hospital as baby boy Pyne until this past Saturday night. We went bowling with some friends and family. I was up to bowl the 5th or 6th frame and knocked down 7 of the 10 pins. The 3 remaining were one towards the front, and then one on each corner of the back row (pins 7 and 10 for the bowling gurus). A horrible split shot, so horrible that my dear husband was prompted to call out to me, "If you can knock down all 3, you can name our baby!" The pressure was on, and after some good advice from my brother-in-law, I let the ball go. I don't know who was more surprised when I actually got the shot! I jumped pretty high for a pregnant lady and turned to see my sweet Greg's shocked face! He recovered pretty well and now says he's glad the pressure is off of him as far as naming the baby. I won't let him off the hook that easily-I still want his honest input. No decisions have been made yet. I think I want to see him first before making our final choice. We'll keep you posted on our progress!

That's so funny. I had no idea how hard it would be to name our girls, too. For some reason I supposed that guys didn't have any opinions when it came to that, or that they shouldn't have any since the girls are the ones who carried the babies after all! So I was shocked when Joseph shot down every name I suggested. With Avery we were still debating names in the hospital and only came up with Avery Jane shortly before she arrived.

And that's too funny that you went bowling and did so well. I bowl best when pregnant. :) I love that you won the bet! I can't wait to hear what name you pick!

Lovin the new look. I still can't believe you knocked those pins down and the look on everyone's face when you did. Good luck on the naming since it's in your hands (sort of).

Hi Meli! Hope all is well! I am DYING to know what you are going to name your little guy. Will it be a surprise until the big day?? On another note, I started a blog finally! It's in it's early stages so it will get better while I learn how to use it!

That's so exciting about the nursery! How cool! You'll have to post lots of pictures. In my opinion, boys names are way harder than girls names...good luck with that one!

Funny you love the name Aiden. :) Our new ward has a handful of them as well - all in the same Sunbeam class!!! It's a cool name though - that is why it is so popular. You are in good company if you choose it for sure. :) Isn't picking a name stressful? It's going to follow your kid for the rest of their life and you just really hope it gives them a sense of identity and individuality and fits them perfectly. Easy enough, huh? :) Good luck!!

I like the ginormous pic! I bought your cute name to be boy some styling clothes the other day... I can't help myself! JP is too big for onesies now and I'm not pregnant so I have to buy cute clotes for your little boy! cute boy clothes are hard to come by.. they're all screen print with dinosaurs. I like to dress them like little men :)

I don't know, Melissa. I personaly LIKE names like Henry (Hank for short), Otis, and Vern. They're well suited to newborn babies (since they kinda look like little old men) AND great-grandpas alike--JUST ZERO AGES IN-BETWEEN!!!! Ha ha ha!
Yikes--I'm sure glad you knocked down those 3 fateful pins, girl!
As far as the huge picture, I think it's cute!!!
Good luck with your designer nursery--that's so awesome!
Love ya!

Hey Melissa! We had a horrible time naming our 3 boys. It is pretty tricky coming up with something normal, not too common, and that none of their girl friends will share the same name. Love seeing your family. How exciting!
